How to use Compound

Getting started
Add your top 3 goals — things you're actually working toward this month or semester.
Add 2–5 daily habits. Small, specific, repeatable. "Read 10 pages" not "Read more."
Each morning, write 3 todos — the tasks that move the needle today.
Daily workflow
Check your morning briefing to see Apex's plan for your day.
Log habits by ticking them off each day. Streaks build momentum.
Use the Focus Timer when you need to execute — no distractions.
Cross off todos as you finish. Empty list = great day.
AI features
Apex Advisor — reads your actual data and tells you what's broken and what to do next.
Build habits & tasks — Apex generates a tailored plan from your goals.
Weekly report — see which habits are actually tracking.
Plan my day — Apex writes your todo list from your active goals.
Tips
Set your "What I'm building" context at the top — it helps Apex give better advice.
Habits compound. Show up every day, even when it's inconvenient.
The system only works if you use it daily. 60 seconds is enough.

One quick thing

Can I send you a welcome email and a daily nudge when your habit streak is at risk? No newsletters. Just useful reminders from me personally.

"I was juggling ten apps to manage my goals, habits, and todos — and none of them talked to each other. I built Compound for myself. It's the system I use every day to run my startup."

What you actually get

One screen for everything you're trying to become.

Your goals, the habits that feed them, and today's tasks — side by side. No switching between five apps that don't talk to each other.

How it works

Three steps. Then just show up.

Setup takes about a minute. The system does the rest.

1

Name what you're building

One goal, in your words. "Launch my app," "hit 5k followers," "get my first paying customer."

2

Apex breaks it down

It turns that goal into concrete steps and the daily habits that actually move it — not a generic template.

3

Check off, compound

Track it daily. Streaks and sparklines make the progress visible, and Apex tells you when something's slipping.

Inside the system

Built for people who are actually building something.

Every feature exists because the alternative was another browser tab.

Apex Advisor

Reads your real streaks, goals and history — then tells you what's broken and what to do about it. Powered by Claude.

🎯

Goals with real steps

Big goals become ordered, checkable actions instead of a vague intention you re-read every week.

🔥

Streaks + sparklines

Seven-day sparkline per habit, so you can see which ones are holding and which are quietly dying.

☀️

Morning briefing

Apex plans your day and emails it before you open your laptop. Optional, and off by default.

Focus timer

Pomodoro sessions in the same place as your work, so starting doesn't mean opening another app.

📓

Questions

Before you sign up.

Is it really free?

Yes — every feature, including the Apex AI coach. No credit card, no trial period, no upsell. AI usage has a fair-use daily cap so one person can't run up the bill for everyone.

Do I have to be a student or a founder?

No. It's built around goals, habits and daily execution, which isn't specific to either. It's shaped for people building something on the side, so that's who it speaks to — but nothing stops you using it for anything else.

What AI powers the Apex Advisor?

Claude, by Anthropic. It reads your actual goals, habits and tasks, so the advice is about your situation rather than generic productivity tips.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It's a web app that works in any mobile browser, and you can add it to your home screen to use it like a native app.

What happens to my data?

It's never sold. AI features send only what's needed to generate a response. Full detail in the Privacy Policy.

Will it stay free?

Everything listed on this page is free today, and there's no paywall in the product. If a paid tier is ever added it'll be for new capability on top — not by taking away what you're already using.

Setup takes about a minute, and it's free.

What's your #1 priority this week? Apex reads this before every response — one sentence is enough.
To-do

Write what needs to happen today. Check things off as you do them. Keep it short — 3 to 5 things max.

Goals

What do you want to achieve? Add your goals here and break them into steps. Apex can help you figure out exactly what to do next.

Habits

One habit done daily beats ten habits done sometimes. Check off today's. Don't break it twice in a row — that's the only rule that matters.
